The Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush Tour is the ideal event for laidback riders who still want the challenge of a three-day stage race.
Life in the slow lane. Take your time. Take photos. Take it easy. That’s what we like to emphasise at the Berg & Bush Tour. Racing snakes are obviously welcome too, but if you’re the kind of rider who prefers pints to positions, then the Tour is the ride for you.
1. Clover-leaf format
Start and finish at the Race Village on all three days. Park your car and don’t worry about a thing until you have to leave.
2. Race Village festivities
Enjoy the Nottingham Road Brewery beers while overlooking the Tugela River. Grab a beanbag, a mattress, or your sleeping bag and settle in for a relaxing afternoon in the countryside after your ride.
3. Bring your friends
Treat the Tour as a tour. Bring your buddies along and ride for three days on fun, free-flowing trails exclusive to the Berg & Bush events. New trails are currently being constructed for 2022 – be the first to ride them!
4. Doable distances
Three days of back-to-back riding is always a challenge – that’s why we ride! But with manageable distances on all three days of the Tour, you’re able to enjoy time on and off the bike. Ride all morning, and then spend the rest of the day doing nothing much at all. It’s the perfect MTB holiday.
5. Sleep in!
With our new winter event dates come new start times. No more 4am wake-up calls. Riders start their day at 8am, a very respectable time indeed.
