Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush 2019 Descent Day 1

What a fantastic day on the Grindrod Bank Berg & Bush Descent 2019. It was fast, furious, fun, frantic and friendly. Riders enjoyed a challenging 94km ride from Windmill Farm in the Free State to Em'seni in KwaZulu-Natal. For lunch, burgers and beers. For dinner, perfectly prepared steaks with mushroom sauce. In general, just a great day on the bike.

We are into the Great Midweek - our second event of the year - but the Berg & Bush Descent was completed this past Sunday.

2 Day - Day 1 Highlights

Today we really got back to core routes of mountain biking. Riders forgot about their gear, forgot about modern day and stereotypical riding, and just got down and dirty, and enjoyed mountain biking in its true form! This was definitely one for the books!

Our 2017 riders braved all four seasons in the space of a few hours at the start of Day 1 before descending down the Drakensberg! Bikes, beers, bush and banter - what a jol on your bike for three days. Entries open 1 March 2018!
